Abstract
This study aims to analyze and describe and determine the magnitude of the effect of work placement and work environment on employee job satisfaction at the Regional Secretariat of Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. Theoretically, work placement and work environment affect
individual job satisfaction within the organization to achieve goals. This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research. The population in this study were
all employees at the Regional Secretariat of Kerinci Regency, as many as 127 people with a research sample of 56 people. The sampling technique used is Stratiϔied Random Sampling. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. While the analytical tool used in this research is Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of research indicate that: 1) Job placement had a positive and signiϔicant effect on job satisfaction as indicated by the t-count value of 2.906 with a signiϔicance of 0.004. The dimensions of work placement that have the greatest inϔluence on job satisfaction are the dimensions
of the educational background and education level of employees who are not yet in accordance
with the position and ϔield of work of employees. 2) The work environment has a positive and
signiϔicant effect on job satisfaction as shown from the results of the t-count value of 2.186 with
a signiϔicance of 0.029. The dimensions of the work environment that have the greatest inϔluence on job satisfaction are the dimensions of the arrangement of the workspace that are not yet good and the level of security of the work environment that is not safe and comfortable. 3) The magnitude of the effect of work placement and work environment simultaneously on job satisfaction
is indicated by the Rsquare value of 0.415 (moderate category). With an Rsquare value of 0.415, the results of the analysis show that the variable job satisfaction is inϔluenced by work placement and work environment by 41.5%, while the remaining 58.5% is inϔluenced or explained by other factors outside this research model.
With efforts to improve the dimensions of work placement and work environment, an increase in job satisfaction can certainly be realized at the Regional Secretariat of Kerinci Regency.
