Abstract

Indonesia is a democratic country that practices good governance and therefore, in
overcoming radicalism and terrorism, it certainly pays attention to democratic
principles, including paying attention to local wisdom, in an effort to guarantee the
continuity of the life of the state and nation based on Pancasila and 1945 Constitution, as
well as providing guarantees for public security from the threat of radicalism and
terrorism. The implementation of the deradicalization policy includes principles and
approaches; deradicalization methods; deradicalization material; and coaching
terrorism convicts. There is a Reengament approach that can be carried out within the
framework of strengthening theoretical countermeasures as well as a cultural approach
that originates from local wisdom. Apart from that, countering terrorism at the
implementation level can be implemented through structuring authority down to the
lowest level of government.
